all is going to plan at the moment. The coach left at Kovarov at 5am and the main party are at Salzburg airport, checked in and waiting for their flight. Advance party are still at the base, clearing up before final departure.

Rafting Today
Day started early with a train ride to Krumlov and a bit of sight seeing.
and then onto the white water rafting for 4 hours down the Vlatva.

Saturday Sunshine!
The sun came back just in time for our day of activities around the centre.
Everyone took part in a volleyball competition, followed by water activities.
Finally, in the evening,a beach barbecue, with a fanning contest between Dano and Czech Scout Leader - "Hammer"

Scottish Weather
It's truly dreadful.
The clouds have come down to meet the land and water has been falling out of them all night and all day.
Log fire is burning in the living room
and chicken curry will warm everyone from the inside.

More Creatures from the Deep
Another prize catch - this time by William.
He used neither a line nor a net - but the more traditional Ives approach - wrestle the oponent to the ground!
Dangerous Danno at it again - this was our brand new mop - 2 minutes after Dan got hold of it.

Yesterday, next door's fishermen caught this monster in lake Lipno.
After the photo shoot, they butchered it and looked like they were planning to cook it.
Does anyone know what sort of fish it is and what it might taste like?

First Days Activity Success
Today we've been out on the lake, cycling round the lake and two teams are sleeping out in the hills. Weather has been a bit mixed with sun,showers and clouds. Volleyball this evening: 
For dinner we bought magical looking mushrooms from a lady at the roadside and cooked them with pork chops. Delicious!

Arrival News
After the chaos of Stansted Airport everybody did make it onto the plane - just. My comments such as "there's nothing worse than hanging around at the airport" have been taken particularly well - having travelled yesterday relatively event free.
The coach arrived as expected and the gang broke the peace at Kovarov at about 2pm. We've all had lunch, toured the facilities and now some are planning hikes, some cooking dinner, some chilling and inevitably some are swimmimg in the lake.
I am happy with things so far!
Dinner tonight will be chicken in white wine sauce. The weather is a bit British - cloudy with sunny spells and an isolated shower.

Expedition Blog for 2010 now online
The advance party have arrived at Kovarov and are setting up ready for the arrival of the main party tomorrow afternoon.
